Camarillo, Calif. (Dec. 6, 2012)– “Healthcare: A Prescription for a Healthy Economy” is the theme of the 16th Annual Meeting of the Economic Development Collaborative-Ventura County (EDC-VC) and 64th Annual Installation of Officers of the Ventura County Economic Development Association (VCEDA). Keynote speaker, Yulun Wang, Ph.D., chair and CEO of InTouch Health in Santa Barbara, will share his insights into the economics of healthcare. The event is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Jan. 17 at Spanish Hills Country Club (999 Crestview Ave., Camarillo).

“InTouch Health uses revolutionary technology to improve patient care and bolster hospital revenue in acute-care situations. As an innovator of new ideas and manufacturer that distributes its products in the U.S. and abroad, InTouch Health is a business leader with a great deal of information about how the healthcare sector can continue strengthening our economy,” said Bruce Stenslie, EDC-VC president/CEO.

Wang founded Computer Motion and invented AESOP, the first FDA-cleared surgical robot. In 2002, he established InTouch Health, which was recognized by Deloitte as one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies and by Inc. Magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing companies and top 100 health companies in America.

“This event has a long history of bringing together business leaders from throughout the region who attend to learn about vitally important topics to our region’s economy. We are thrilled to have someone of Dr. Wang’s stature as this year’s keynote speaker,” said Bill Buratto, VCEDA president and CEO.

During the meeting, VCEDA will install new board members and Ellen Brown, Volt’s Ventura County regional delivery manager, as board chair. It will also recognize immediate past chair, Bill Camarillo, for his two years of service in the position.

The cost is $75 for members of EDC-VC or VCEDA, and $95 for non-members. Dinner is included. For reservations or information, call 805-384-1800, ext. 21.
